The Daintree Building - bikeshed wall - 1st set of panels - metal

This first set uses mainly metal - circuit boards, copper pipes, metal shavings, coins, lead from the base of lampstands, washers, chains, curtain rings, keys, candle holders and nails. The colours in the background are provided by the beautiful left-overs of Daintree's paper. _____________________________________________________________ Neste primeiro conjunto foi usado o metal como principal material - placas de circuito, canos de cobre, raspas de metal, moedas, chumbo da base de luminárias, porcas, correntes, argolas de cortina, chaves, base de velas e pregos. As cores de fundo são proporcionadas pelo belo lixo de papel da Daintree.

once upon a time...

It all started with a 2001 diary designed for Daintree Paper Shop, Dublin, the contents of which were all about the creative use of waste. The covers were handmade one by one, using wallpaper found in a skip, net bags and beer tin. Next (2004) came Daintree's new shop, in an nice old building in Camden St., Dublin, where a beautifully worn-out wooden floor was turned into their counter. Now, 2007, we've just finished a new project - an instalation in the bikeshed at The Daintree Building, at Pleasants Place, Dublin, a sustainable building designed by Solearth Ecological Architecture. A 14m wall divided into 7 sets of 5 panels each, all covered with "skip-art". _________________________ Tudo começou com uma agenda em 2001, projetada para Daintree Paper Shop, Dublin, cujo conteúdo é todo sobre o uso criativo de materiais recicláveis, e a capa foi confeccionada uma por uma, usando papel de parede achado em caçamba, redes de frutas e latinhas de cerveja. Tempos depois (em 2004), da velha casa onde se instalou a nova loja da Daintree, foi retirado e condenado à caçamba o velho chão de madeira, maravilhosamente marcado pelo uso e pelo tempo. Reencarnou-se no balcão da nova loja. Agora, 2007, acabamos de finalizar um novo projeto - uma instalação no estacionamento de bicicletas do edifício auto-sustentável da Daintree, projetado pela Solearth Ecological Architecture. 14m de parede, divididos em 7 conjuntos de 5 painéis cada, totalmente cobertos com "skip-art".

Brazilian (b. 1963), graphic designer, qualified architect (UFMG 1988), also attended Art School (UFMG 1993-96). Based in Ireland since 2000, Beta blends her skills with her style in Skip-Art. ________________________ Artista gráfica, graduada em Arquitetura pela UFMG, frequentei também o curso de Belas Artes daquela Universidade (1993-96).
